:(

There aren't many people on here anymore.

I don't know about the online MP communities, but the TMX community itself isn't quite what it used to be.

United exchange is basically a ghost site. It's only been a year and a bit since TM2's release and the site had a pretty regular and dedicated community at that point, but now it's just completely dissipated.

What happened?

Threre are so many different sites to go on now. TMUX, SMX, TMX, TMNFX, TMNF, TMOX, etc. I guess the community was just spread thin.

edit: I honestly thought Stadium coming to MP would've had the opposite effect its had. Okay, it was bustling here for a week or two, but then the community flatlined shortly thereafter.

the main problem (I guess) is that TMNFX community didn't move to MX at all, people just stayed on TMX, or quietly stopped playing TM. TMUFX is dying for a long time already, and Canyon probably got boring too.

Do you mean there aren't as many people on the forums as there used to be? Because I do believe the forums have died down a LOT over the past few years.

People are still uploading tracks of course, more or less. But many don't really do much on the forums these days. Some never did.

To be honest, I think Skype, Facebook, and Twitter are mostly to blame. I know Skype specifically has been to blame for killing some clan forums. People meet up on Skype and establish permanent group conversations. It's much more immediate and less hassle than messing with posting to a forum.

The community has become more and more decentralized.

I'm curious what impact Steam Workshop will have on MX. Presumably we'll be able to share tracks and mods and stuff there.

The start of Canyon was awesome as there were so many people and it was a great community but now there is only very little few. Quite sad.

I can only see things around here build up again when Valley is released.

I was thinking of starting a thread like this but now I'll post here. I've seen a discussion on the TMXNF forum where people complain about MX. They see canyon tracks are still most popular and stadium tracks hardly get awards. And yes I can understand if you have built up fame over at TMXNF you're afraid to loose it here. So everyone is staying over there. But all they have to do is ALL come over here and they will keep their fanbase. But how? If one sheep jumps over the fence more will follow. So we should have something to lure them. What about making two top10's best of the week seperately for canyon and stadium?

Ive seen the same thing happen at the release of Canyon. MX is pretty much the old TMU community. Some TMXNF builders made some canyon tracks but the TMU folks were in majority so they hardly got noticed and they received few awards so they quit.

What we're dealing with here is 2 groups. One group (TMXUF) likes multiple environments and the other group (TMXNF) only likes one environment. So giving the TMXNF folks their own top10 on MX seems completely logical to me.
