MTC Theme suggestions 2013-08-20 18:42:00
Post your Trackmania 2 MTC Theme suggestions in this thread.

The old thread has been locked - it was becoming too difficult to go through it and look for suitable proposals; therefore, if you still think one of your older proposals is good, please post it again, here.

theme proposal:
Puzzle/Cuts: Build a seemingly normal track that contains some less-than-obvious alternative path that allows gaining the gold medal. Under no circumstances should it be possible to get gold (and perhaps even silver) without discovering the secret.

Other suggestions:
- The builder is restricted to a certain area. Under no circumstances should any part of the Track (scenery included) be placed out of this area. The area will be given in a track for all 3 environments which is provided by the creator of the MTC.
- The builder is restricted to certain blocks. He/She can only use these blocks to build a Track. The blocks which can be used are chosen for each environment by the creator of the MTC.

Choose 1 block in your track, drive it 3/4/5 times differently.

An MTC called Stuntwise Build a track with multiple stunts such and at least features one jump, one aerial jump, one loop, one wallride and one corkscrew. Another one could be called 90 degree turns in which you build a track which has only turns you make that changes the direction you need to drive in my 90 degrees and you can only use another turn after at least 3 blocks of the last turn.

Don't touch any Checkpoints. 2013-09-29 16:05:09
I once had a theme idea and I'd still love to see that in TM2 although it was already used in United :)

The main thing is:
Don't touch any Checkpoints.
To clarify the rule: Don't touch the ground while going through a Checkpoint, so blockmixing a block of different height into the CP isn't allowed.

existing CPs:
(Tell me if there's blocks missing)

Stadium:
  • ground
  • road:
    1 flat
    2 up/down (counted 1)
    2 tilted (counted 1)
  • platform:
    1 flat
    2 up/down (counted 1)
    2 slope (counted 1)
  • dirt:
    1 flat
    1 raised
    1 banked
    1 underground
  • rings:
2 (counted 1, since the standing one is easier to use)
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    18 / (each similar counted 1) 12 CPs
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Canyon:
  • ground
  • GP:
    2 right/left (counted 1)
  • road
  • platform tunnel
  • platform:
    1 flat
    2 up/down (counted 1)
    2 slope (counted 1)
  • tunnel road:
    1 mid road
    1 on both sides
    2 right/left (counted 1)
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    14 / (each similar counted 1) 10 CPs
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Valley:

  • road
    1 narrow
    1 tunnel
    1 wide / 1 combined with platform (counted 1)
  • dirt
    1 forest
    1 plain
  • platform
    1 flat / parking lot (counted 1)
    2 up/down
    2 slope
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    11 / (each similar counted 1) 8
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Stadium: 18 / 12
    Canyon: 14 / 10
    Valley: 11 / 8

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have two different suggestions now.

  • Use every kind of Checkpoint available at least once.
  • Use at least X Checkpoints in the track.

The first one might be a bit unfair, thinking of the different number of CPs. Therefore the second idea: Having individual minimum number of CPs that differ from envi to envi. I'd say:

    mimimum CP number:
  • Stadium: 8
  • Canyon: 8
  • Valley: 6
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Additional rule would be the lenght of the track also being dependend on what envi is used..

    maximum track lenght:
  • Stadium 2:00.00
  • Canyon 2:00.00
  • Valley 1:45.00

That's my theme idea and some too elaborately explained suggestions to it :d

    What about "smooth angles"?

No curved blocks allowed; the track shouldn't be just a straight line, obviously. So, in order to make a turn you have to use tricks like grass drifts, arena blocks etc.

Since this month's theme is verticality, I'm willing to ask for a horizontal theme - Like one that was back in TMUF in which I DON'T GIVE A GOOD GOD DAMN WHO WON TUTA MADE THE BEST MAP IN THE ENTIRE CONTEST.

Ok, the theme was simple - ALL blocks have to be tied to ground level. All of them. No ground elevations allowed in the layout asides from those that are still at height zero (zero being ground). No towers. I think not even deco was allowed to be over 1 block tall. Bridge blocks are allowed as long as they're tied to the ground, the lower block is at ground level and it's only one block. And so on and so forth.

Now, under these rules, everything else was allowed. Ramps, platforms, garages now on valley. Only restriction was that the blocks were on the ground.
