Yea SGM is massive! Too bad they disbanded this year ._.

And that song, jonas, is pretty trippy lol X_X. Never heard of Can before, I see they are tagged as Krautrock, maybe should check some of that out since its pretty interesting. Pretty experimental and minimalistic. And it somehow sounds like Radiohead heard them aswell since it has some similarities I think. Anyway I liked it! (y) 7/10

Next one: Steven Wilson "No Part Of Me" Live Record of the year imho! Also notice Marco Minnemann on the drums for this live recording, he's a beast!

It's actually not as bad as I thought it was going to be when I heard the first 30 seconds. However, even though it's not my style of music, it definitely isn't a bad song. 7/10

His voice sounds really annoying to me... somehow he's widening the vowels so much that it sounds really unnatural. I like the percussion/drums though. The synth sounds don't seem like they used too much time thinking about them. Especially the synth that plays the high notes... it just doesn't work. Also, the structure is pretty flat, which makes it boring - music-wise, anyway. There's that part around 2:10 which makes it a bit more diverse, but I think the diversity jumps in too late and makes the song structure sound even stranger. Yeah, it's not really my type of a song. 4/10 for the percussion and the pretty catchy theme.

Alright... time for something really different. If you don't know what xenharmonic (microtonal) music is, read the description of the video. Basically it means having more or less than 12 tones inside an octave. This seriously brings music to a whole new level.

Easley Blackwood - 13 notes Sostenuto

And dear god, PLEASE do not say it's out of tune because it is not.

it's daring, it's different but in my ears it sounds like false notes.

It's good that you can knit a sweater with your feet but what is the point?

You would say the same about 12-tone music if we had always been using the 13-tone system. Chords are always about how different notes work with each other. Dissonance is beautiful - imo, anyway. With microtonal systems, we can find new chords that are mysterious, grim, beautiful or surprising. And the scale possibilities are endless. I guess it's only fascinating if you are a musician.

it's not just that, it's that you mentioned radiohead

you said they sounded like radiohead

this is basically what every person who has only been listening to music for a week says in response to something that sounds outside of their comfort zone
