More Track Styles? 2011-08-30 22:50:25
Right now there are:

Race (Normal)
Fullspeed
Tech
RPG
LOL

I think there are a few more styles that could be added to that list, such as:

Push-Forward
Off-Road
Platform (the lack of an official play mode doesn't mean people will stop making them :))

Agreed

Btw: push-forward (or press-forward) should be re-grouped with "press-backwards", "press-forward+left/right" etc into a category in which the replays do not count to the leaderboard(s)

On TMX it used to be that if the 10 uploaded replays were all the same race time (or very close to), it would be classified as "non competitive" and wouldn't count towards LB rating. I would assume they're going to do the same thing here.

I would suggest a new style that seems to be gaining popularity on MX - Full Speed Drift. I feel personally that it should be in a separate category to normal no slide FS.

I agree, or even just simply calling it a 'drifter' would work fine.
We're also missing Speedtech from the list of options, but I guess this is all coming soon ;)

So I've added Press Forward/ (y)

I'm not sure about SpeedTech and Drift, it seems quite hard to say that a track fits into one of those categories specifically?

Code:
1	Normal Race

2 Fullspeed
3 Tech
4 RPG
5 LOL
6 Press Forward

Need some more opinions on what these should be

Tech and speedtech are separated on TMNFX, but I'm sure you know that. If I'm looking for some wide, fast slides, I'll be disappointed if I get something that has lots of 90 and 180 degree left-right variant. I do believe they should be separate here. I would hesitate to call it speed-"tech" though. It's more like speed-"slide".

Normal imo is some combination of the other categories, but not mostly one of the other categories.

We do need speed drift in the list.
You can even choose it in the editor and it makes sense. Because tech tracks need drifts as well, and speed drift tracks need braking a lot of times so they should definitly be seperated from the normal fullspeed, which is pretty much noslide in my book.

As much as I agree with you skunky, I think 'Speed Slide' just flows better off the fingers, you know? :p

I just like to remind you of an old topic that shows what problems might occur:
The definition of Fullspeed
("Fullspeed" was just an example.)
