#PushingMXForward - The 2019 MX May Update 2019-05-11 12:59:57

Dear ManiaExchange Community,

We are very proud to present this update to you. It's a big one with a lot of new features and many changes. This update paves the way for the exciting future we're working towards.

One of our key additions is the new MX Crew Support, where you can support our development and consistent work for the community - either through a direct donation or by purchasing merchandise, powered by our new partner Elbster. In return for your support, you will get access to new features like multi-replay upload, multi-track upload for mappacks (coming soon) and more.

The biggest addition is the new Mappack section, where you can create, search and manage Mappacks. Mappacks are not only playlists for tracks - they can also be used to handle track requests, to host contests and to create campaigns. Powerful tools inside the mappack feature make this possible.

We also got ourselves a new domain: mania.exchange.
It will co-exist with the regular domain, so no massive changes are coming in that regard.

Did you also notice the new graphics?   Keissla.wp and   Ozon created a new, modern MX logo,   shortz created new banners and   eyebo made new backgrounds. Yes, backgrounds, because we have a new Nightmode for the page.

Here's the full changelog:
Code:

^^^^^ I'm sure they would appreciate specifics about what you don't like or what you find confusing. :)

For my part, I think the new site looks fantastic. I also love the dark theme, and the new wallpapers and banners are just spiffy!

I haven't played around with the map packs yet, but it's a great idea and I'll certainly be using the feature!

I also think a support section is a good option for those who feel like contributing, and some branded merchandise to reflect the new site should help that.

Nice job!

The dark theme is beautiful, well done.

A few further ideas: track exploring returns only results for packs I own (display only maps I can play).

As for the leaderboard, I'd leave the cumulative lb in a corner as "Historical contribution for the replay system" and create a new leaderboard that focuses on new maps, like top50 replays by user at maps uploaded in the last 30 days. Or reduce replay weight in the lb (not on the track) by 1% every day old the track is.

Pretty cool & all but i'd rather see the replays fixed. Having to open a replay in the editor to watch it is a pain, used to just have to click them.

Hey DrHugs, I think that might be an install issue on your side. Try reinstalling the Maniaplanet client or try a different browser and report back via PM, maybe we can figure it out. (y)
