at least screen looks widescreen with them. and white bars are simply invisible.

I don't see why you should stretch it when you could just crop it (cut it) with the "Crop Tool" in Photoshop. I bet all the other editing programs has a similar tool.

Yeah, cropping works. But I haven't ever taken the time to figure out the correct AR to crop to.

Change height to 290px and copypaste it to an empty image with the right dimensions (400x290) and move it around the way you want it to fit. Might have to move the text.
