I think we can float this project along through the building stages. The consolidation stage is where it's gonna get tricky

But go go! don't stop now

Eyebo was thinking of doing some multilayer thingy, but I don't know the exact case.

I would have thought, that planning is needed to think of where each section will go.

Ground sections
Corner sections
Floating sections

+ Where the entry & exit points are.

D25 didn't have different corner sections.

I'm up for planning this, but i would need help.

At least I would need any notes from eyebo and some advice of what went wrong or right with D25 plus everyone's ideas.

Lets start in an organized manner from the start

Here's a spreadsheet to serve as a centralized repository for project stuff.

Everyone involved please bookmark it:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkHpbXJ9n3x3dEZXM3lXRno2N3N6YUZneUhfT3JFUVE&usp=sharing

You can start to add ideas for the name of the track in the sheet "Name ideas"

Im gona speak to eyebo about his ideas for the track and develop the rules from there.

Yep, we still need people! I've been speculating on MX's irc channel with many of the guys interested in this project, and I'm looking to loosely lead/help keep this project alive. I'm sure I'll get plenty of help.

Since it's the same premise, I'm gonna modify eyebo's D25 building guidelines to fit to what we're doing here, so people know what they're signing up for.

    The Rules

o You must build inside the 8x8x11 area provided.

o You are NOT allowed to build below the surface of the map.

o Keep in mind that the platform blocks surrounding the space are outside your assigned plot, meaning that if you are staying within them, you should not be replacing any of them.

o You must use the pre-placed start block for the start of your track part and use the pre-placed finish block for the end of your track part; Instead of this, I will be placing platform checkpoints. You must end ON the platform, not on the lower level of the checkpoint.

o You may share your part with up to 1 beta tester (not counting me). Your tester must ensure not to share your part with anyone else.

o You should NOT post your part to MX.

o Blockmixing is NOT allowed (this is because the copy/paste and macroblock tools do not work with mixing).

o Difficulty level should be between Beginner and Intermediate. An average driver should be able to finish your part with a minimum of respawns.

o Signage may be placed. You can use the blue signs from the (Old) MX Sign Pack, or you can use the default Valley signs. However, you should also try to make the route intuitive.

o Be mindful of lighting. The final track will be in Sunset mood (Night is being considered as well) and will be surrounded by other people's track parts, so it may become darker than when you built it. Make sure you provide adequate lighting. Use lighting blocks whenever possible.

o RPG/Platform elements may be used sparingly (e.g. A narrow beam to cross).

o CPs should be placed regularly and attention should be paid to avoid introducing cuts.

o CPs should be respawnable (you should be able to continue driving if you respawn at any CP).

o There is no limit for the length of your part

o Reuses should be very seldom used; The driver should not hesitate whatsoever and you may be told to redo part or all of your section if there is uncertainty.

    ~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~

o Once you get your part, make sure you re-read the rules to check for changes or updates. I've been updating them a lot.

o Make sure to stay inside the outlined area. You should not be getting rid of any platform blocks; treat it like a box, you should only be building inside it. There is one exception, given below.

o If you are on ground level, and terraforming, the forest overlay ONLY may be allowed to replace the platform blocks. Nothing else should be replacing these blocks, including hills or dirt blocks (roads). All other terraforming must be kept within the box, and the overlay should NOT go beyond the platform blocks.

o In regards to the above, keep in mind,as already stated, that you should not be going below the default surface of map.

o I will send you your templates with your box #, your MX username, and a 2 letter code that represents what template you received (Do not worry about this). The format will be ##-username-XX (XX being the 2 letter code). Please return your part in this format. (For example, 34-Cxom-CU, or 41-Cxom-ID)

o You must realize that your section will likely be changed in a few spots without your consent. This is necessary both for flow of the track and efficiency of editing. Of course however, the majority of your trackroute will remain how you built it.

    ~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~

I also need those who wish to build on the ground to say so in a comment here. There are 18 (remaining) spaces available for ground building, but keep in mind that your finish will be in the air, so your section will not be able to be, for example, entirely dirt.
