I just wanted to ask why people sometimes have to pay planets to watch replays? And maybe how to edit replays to do it? Is this even wished here on mx?

I couldn´t find any answer on the forum, maybe someone can help?

It is probably car skin or model that player used while driving replay.

It could also be a skin used in the map by the author, even if it isn't included in the replay (because it's contained in the map itself by MT).

Modifying a validated replay will invalidate it, which will result in an error if you try to upload it to MX.

I think you can still watch the replay even if you not agree paying the planets. You will just not see the skin in that case
