MTC March 2017: Get me out! 2017-03-01 13:18:26

Welcome to the ManiaExchange Monthly Track Contest (MTC), March 2017.

After a month break so we could re-sync with the months, we're back.

In the MTC your task is to build a track on a given theme (see below). Later on, all of the entered tracks will be rated and a winner will be found.

  • Theme of the Month: Get me out!
Well that was embarrassing. Fit your track in a 15x15x15 box with the finish looking out

    • You can do whatever inside the box, but everything related to track has to be put inside that box.
    • Terraforming is allowed outside the box, but no blocks can be put outside that box.
    • As a measure of grace and solely because the theme states "the finish looking out", the finish can be put outside the box. Only the finish, fake finishes have to be put inside.
    • EDIT: "The finish looking out" means that it has to be either outside (which is allowed ONLY for the finish, remember) or in one of the borders of the box going outwards.

  • Deadline
All tracks should be submitted before the end of Sunday 19, March 2017 PDT.

  • Prize
:gold: Honour and the right to brag! (Jozii used to say that. I hope anyone still remembers him? :p)
:gold: The top 3 winners will receive a showcase of a track of their choice (< 10 awards)

  • General Rules

    • Track-/Laplength below 90 seconds
    • Custom objects allowed
    • Envimixing allowed
    • Blockmixing allowed
    • Custom Titlepacks forbidden
    • No PX tracks
    • MTC should be present in the mapname. Example: Mice Maze»MTC
    • 1 map per author

  • How to submit
    • To enter a track, simply upload it and post a link to your submission in the submission thread.
    • You can update your map within the deadline as many times as you want.

  • Judging
We'll use the well well well known public judging system:
    • Everyone is allowed to judge, even players who submitted a map (give your own map a 10)
    • Every map will be judged with marks from 1 (bad) to 10 (gud).
    • Note that you have to judge a stage entirely, you cannot judge only half of it.
More details will appear after submission ends

Good luck, and as always: If you have any questions, please ask :)

yo' ma' boi

nice theme btw
I have a few questions regarding the box:
1. Is it inside the 15x15x15, so the actual building are is only 13³ or can we also build blocks on the edge (which is the 15th block)
2. Do you have to build a box with walls etc.? Or just some imaginary walls?

1.- You can build blocks on the edge yes
2.- Not necessary but it can help in the process. If you want to give more of a feel of a box too.

Just to be clear, the box won't be a perfect cube, right? The length/width of one unit is greater than its height by about 4 times, if I'm correct.

Yeah, I'm completely aware of that Arkive. Doesn't mean it's not what I want.

To be honest, blocks are so much longer/wider than they're tall that making a perfect box makes little sense.

It's surprisingly easy to build a semi-decent stadium FS track in 15x15x15... Might change my opinion once I tackle signs, scenery, and lighting.

I figured that was what you wanted, I just wanted to be sure.

Also, for convenience, here's a .zip with some base maps. Each one has a box in the center. Anything inside the given blocks is in the 15 X 15 X 15 box. If you build into the ground, you'll need to adjust the ceiling since the bounds have been lowered. Note that the blocks given are NOT within the bounds and need to be removed before submitting. You'll also want to change the comment; that's just to remind you of what I've stated above.

[EDIT: MTC building is over, so I've removed the .zip from my dropbox]
