SPIDER says:

bugs maybe ?

against turbo : the engine die
sometimes the car stuck in the ground after a crash/drift (chop)

Neither of those is a bug, just parts of the physics :)

. So far it has been a lovely experience, I do miss some things tho, like cam7 (can't perform my pre-race ritual to quickly check cam7 before driving) .

=p i was doing exactly the same thing, i have still this automatism..and i need few second before realizing i'm on tm².

For my impression, drifts are marvellous, because you can master it and kiss the edge like a pro ! 8-|
About the Editor, this is great but there isn't much scenery block and i miss the FX colors on the Mediatracker.

PS: My laptop is warming too fast, even with a bad quality...does someone have an issue ?

My first impressions are that the gameplay is as excellent as ever. I love the new car, it's so much fun to drive and I feel in control of it at all times.

That said, the editor is a mess. Truly a mess. I can't find my way around it.

First off, I REALLY like Trackmania 2! I love the new, photorealistic artstyle, the much-improved "compute shadow" mode, the plethora of track pieces, and the surprisingly-rewarding handling of the Canyon car. However, the new track piece selection mode is rather odd (even though I like the new track piece preview feature when you hover over a track piece type), and there seems to be an odd lack of basic track pieces, such as flat-to-banked transition pieces for the GP track type and a straight tunnel piece.

EDIT: I don't know why, but NONE of the graphical issues which others have been reporting, such as high quality compute shadows not working or issues with the highest shader settings, have afflicted me. Maybe it's because my system, which has a GeForce GTX 460SE, an Intel Core i7 950 CPU, and 16GB of memory, is so powerful? I dunno. :|

- The GP flat-to-banked piece is forthcoming in the release version.
- Do you mean the white platform tunnel? A straight one does exist (three different ones, naturally) but it's hard to find because the icon doesn't tell you much...

I like this game, especially the drifts, gives you more to experiment with the track and make some tracks with really cool drifts, especially in the tunnel sections.

The editor is taking a bit getting used to, especially for the fact that I haven't been active in track making for over 2 years (almost). The track pieces are a little too varied and some blocks don't fit like they did in, say island or coast.

Scenery blocks are very very limited and surely will make you a pro if you can build good scenery in your track.

Overall a nice feel of the game, more like fast island with coast drifting and some part of desert all mixed into one.

alright, just got tm2 this morning. Started it up and the first thing i notice, the menu. I don't have a problem with the backround of the menu, i just wish it was a high quality render video instead of the comp rendering a empty map with a CameraPath MT going around.

The editor, it's just a mess, if you're used to the forever editor, then you have to relearn how to use the tm2 editor. For example, it took me a bit to figure out that i have to hit terraforming mode and the delete tool to flatten hills. Also, the current spot for the dirt cp just seems off. idk, but i think it should atleast be with the road cp/start/finish section.

Now for the car, the first thing i noticed was bay like speeds, but with turning that seems delayed. idk, but the turning is either delayed, or just seems like it is. Now, the one thing that actually pisses me off about the canyon car is the lack of grip on loops, one small tap and boom, you're sliding around like a piece of... yeah, you know what i'm talking about. that's my only complaint about the loopings, and this car.

And that's it on what i think is wrong.

could only play canyon on the gamescom up to now... (if i try to drive a track on my pc, the game crashes. :s)

i really like the handling of the canyon car. it reminds me a lot on nfs hot pursuit (2010) - at least the drifting behaviour.
editor looks promising, but i haven't used it often as it's rather senseless to build a track without being able to test while building.
