The first video that they took down said pegi3 on it.

The reposted one says pegi12.

PEGI is the rating system used throughout Europe.

PEGI 3 (which is what TM2 Canyon is rated at) means:
"The content of games given this rating is considered suitable for all age groups. Some violence in a comical context (typically Bugs Bunny or Tom & Jerry cartoon-like forms of violence) is acceptable. The child should not be able to associate the character on the screen with real life characters, they should be totally fantasy. The game should not contain any sounds or pictures that are likely to scare or frighten young children. No bad language should be heard and there should be no scenes containing nudity nor any reference to sexual activity."

PEGI 12 (which is presumably what ShootMania will be since the rating on this video was changed to that) means:
"Videogames that show violence of a slightly more graphic nature towards fantasy character and/or non graphic violence towards human-looking characters or recognisable animals, as well as videogames that show nudity of a slightly more graphic nature would fall in this age category. Any bad language in this category must be mild and fall short of sexual expletives."

I guess it must be noted that it says "PEGI 12 Provisional" on the video meaning that the rating could be changed later. So we'll have to wait and see for sure. I guess most people won't pay much attention to the rating anyway. But anyway, that appears to be why the video was re-uploaded.

Doesn't look anything like the snow environment Cyro/Cryo/whatever the name is that we've been hearing about ^^

"Just like its sister-games, TrackMania 2 and QuestMania, it will feature 3 different environments. The only two known for the moment are a snow-based environment called "Cryo" and another called "Storm", where storm is set to be released first, and have cryo released a year after that.

Not much is known about the game for now, but Nadeo have stated some things about the gameplay that makes Shootmania completely different from other FPS-games. For one thing, the game's main weapon is a rocket laucher, which is highly unusual in games in the FPS-genre. When coming to guns in general, the game doesn't have many, as Florent, the game's project leader, made it this way to prevent long decisions between what gun to use.

The game is set to be released in the first quarter of 2012."

interesting ^^
You just lost the game ...

In the USA the ESRB would give Shootmania at least a T (Teen 13+) rating. From what I've read on the maniaplanet forum, however, gives me the impression of laser tag with a re-spawn system, where you must return to base when you get shot enough times. Thus an E10+ (Everyone 10+) ESRB rating would make more sense.

However, even the mention of a gun is enough to give a game a T rating in the US. Look at Super Smash Bros. Brawl - If Snake had even a pistol, the game would have gotten an M rating here.
Rise from the ashes!
