Welcome to the second ManiaExchange Monthly Track Contest (MTC), November 2011, hosted by MX.

In the MTC, your task is to build a track on a given theme (see below). Later on, all of the entered tracks will be rated by our judges and a winner will be found.

The Details

Let's have a look at the details of the contest:

Theme of the Month: Burning Rubber - The track must contain at least three drifts that last at least 8 seconds each.

Deadline: Friday the 18th of November 2011.

Prizes:

First place: Showcase on the frontpage*

*You may choose a track to be showcased on the frontpage. It can be a self-made creation or the work of someone else (which has got a maximum of 10 awards already).

The rules:

Your track must contain at least three drifts that all last at least 8 seconds when driven correctly.

You can have as many drifts as you want in your track, but at least three of them must last for over 8 seconds.

Offroad counts as drifting (as the car is clearly "out of control" there). Keep in mind though, your score might not be too high if you only use offroad.

Any jump or drop will cancel the current drift. Eg. "4 sec drift - drop - 5 sec drift" won't count as a 9-second drift.

Max length: 1:45.00 minutes

You may submit ONE track.

Name your track "TrackName (MTC)", where "TrackName" is whatever name you want to give the track. EXAMPLE: "I need new tires! (MTC)".

The track must have been uploaded to the exchange between (and including) Wednesday the 2nd and Friday the 18th of November 2011.

General tips:

The "General tips" are just recommendations. You won't get disqualified if you do not follow them, but they tend to help your track and its appreciation by general player population.

Try making checkpoints respawnable.

Ghost replays that show how to drive (GPS) do NOT relieve you of your moral obligation to provide guidance during the race (signs or other visual hints on where to go).

Always provide your track on MX with a screenshot that shows something from the track, and add a description of what can people expect if they play your track.

Important: To enter a track, simply upload it and post your submission in THIS thread.

The Judging System

A number of judges will rate the tracks on the following topics:

Design – Flow, smoothness, layout, speed, transitions, stunts, difficulty, etc. The general "feel" of the track. Max 20 points/judge

Scenery – Looks, non-driveable blocks, etc. Max 5 points/judge

Media Tracker – All the MT aspects, from the intro and outro to in-game features. Max 5 points/judge

Fun Factor – Sometimes a track can be poor in every way, but still extremely fun to drive. Depending on how fun the judges find your track, a few extra points can be given. Max 10 points/judge

Theme – Even drifts can be creative. Are the drifts all flat, one-surfaced and generic? Or are they wild, thrilling and varied? Max 10 points/judge

Regarding the final results, the lowest and highest score of each track will be deleted and the average of the "medium scores" decides - if the number of judges is at least 5.

I've once tried making an up-to-down tower made of 90° GP blocks... that drift was like 40 secs long

Yes, it's a tough theme, but surely possible to do an amazing track here!

1000 planets for the person making a 23 seconds track that fits the rules

i think it's a nice theme, i waited for that the hole day!
And marius? 3x8 sec drift + time for brake the drift between into 23? why u wanna give 1000 planets for that? it's too easy man!

I'm in, i already have 2 nice drifts.
But what will the judge look at?
the way he drives?
How is he going to time that?
Or will he time the gps?
Because once you master the drifts, you usually try to take less driftingtime to gain more speed at an avarage track.
What i'm trying to say is... do you get disqualified when a part of the track that is been designed to take a 8 second drift turns out to be doable in less drifting time or even without drift?
You know, some parts can start with an autoslide
but if you avoid that, it can be sometimes possible to start the slide later...
It will be hard to judge because not everyones skills are equal
