Welcome to
the first ManiaExchange Monthly Screenshot Contest (MSC), November 2011, hosted by
MX and
GrimR.
In the MSC, your task is to make a screenshot on a given theme (see below). Later on, all of the entered screenshots will be rated by our judges and a winner will be found.
The Details
Let's have a look at the details of the contest:
Theme of the Month: Duality - Make a screenshot that resembles the encounter of two things. They can be opposites, from completely different topics or something different. The main point is that there are clearly
two things or entirities in the picture.
Deadline: Tuesday the 22nd of November 2011.
Prizes:
First place: Showcase on the frontpage* and
2500 planets
Second place: 1600 planets
Third place: 1100 planets
*You may choose a track to be showcased on the frontpage. It can be a self-made creation or the work of someone else (which has got a maximum of 10 awards already).
The rules:
Your screenshot must have
two things or entirities in it, and these things must be clear. Think of
Yin & Yang for example.
Your two things don't have to be opposites though, it's just one solution.
Two things means two, not three, not four, not one.
You can use any skins or mods you wish.
You can edit the screenshot in any way.
You may enter ONE screenshot. It must be at least 800x600 pixels in size.
Please name your screenshot this way: "
YourName.jpg", where "YourName" is your TMX nick. This is to help sorting the screenshots.
The screenshot must have been published between (and including) Sunday the 4th and Tuesday the 22nd of November 2011.
To enter a screenshot, simply post a link to this thread.
The Judging System
A number of judges will rate the screenshots on the following topics:
Idea -
How creative is the idea behind the picture? max. 20p/judge
Realisation -
How well was the idea executed? max. 20p/judge
(NOTE: we have completely changed the categories from TMUFX as you can see. These two categories take everything in consideration and they will hopefully make the judges' job easier, too. Basically, "Idea" tells about your creativity, and "Realisation" about your skills to realise your idea.)
Regarding the final results, the lowest and highest score of each screenshot will be deleted and the average of the "medium scores" decides - if the number of judges is at least 5.
We need reliable and committed judges, so if you want to volunteer as a judge, please send a PM to Ville!
Good luck! If you have any questions, please ask away
