There are not many "Blogs".
These "Blogs" are now getting strict [subjective!] rules.
These "Blogs" will get removed if they don't fit these rules.
The rules will reduce the number of already active "Blogs".

According to me, this will even reduce the activity on this site. Then the "Feature this track on your blog!" thingy is useless and should be removed.

Please, discuss.

Ehm, you just have to complain all the time huh? Rules are made not for fun, but for the good of the public. And what do you mean "rules in general", there are very few rules to follow when you write a blog on this site. The rules added are very much needed to make sense to the the "blog" part of the blog.

Lets say, if you write a minimum of a hundred lines about your track, the history, how you built it (whatever), (should make sense ofc, lol), then if a moderator approves (after you post it), it can stay. It will show that you actually didn't only make this track purely for promotional purposes, but rather because you enjoy it.
Why write a blog when you only post a link to a track, a link that can be found in "Find Tracks" as well.

that would be cool on this site if we can go to next map or previous with a simple click.

Won't be cool if the next 50 tracks are all LOL maps. =p

What about, if i showcase my next map ? in ac on my maps how you guys feel about that then. ?
do you award those tracks. ? +o(

Imo i have that on all my maps so if you play my latest you can play all with a simple click.
i got this idea from Mr Dvd tracks and i am glad i only had 60+ tracks :$ to change ac on, hehe

I think it worth it.

btw: that would be cool on this site if we can go to next map or previous with a simple click. (l)
not the author next map just next id. :)

I'm completely holding my ground on these guys' side. I've always disliked seeing blogs just about advertising one's own tracks. There is already one "latest tracks" box on the main page. The blogs box shouldn't be the same, and it's good it isn't anymore.

The 'feature this track on your blog!' option is meant to be used with other's tracks. It means: be nice and try to give this author the attention that you find he deserves. It's not meant for self-advertisement :)

Exactly! For the same reason it is not allowed to award ones own tracks. I think that it's about time blogs started having rules too.

Quality is better than quantity :)

So we look forward to two things

1) More high qulaity blog posting
2) While there is less, each new post can get more attention

(y)

The feature this track on your blog thingie is nice, although its not important to be able to' click to feature a track right now', but its important to be able to go to a blog from a track page, and from a blog to a track page.

I may prefer a slightly different implementation therefore, such as a window on the tracks page above the awards, that just says 'This track was featured on these blogs' and if it has not been featured, then hide the window.

As soon as I mention "rules", you think of "no self-promotion".
However, this is "rule" and not "rules".

I definetly share Marti's opinion in this point. Additionally, there are sometimes blogs about certain trackstyles, tracks with certain characteristics etc., something you discuss about and the "track-feature"-feature is great in this case to have something you can refer to, to give examples of what you are talking about.

The new rule to prevent self-advertising blogs does not restrict the intention of what blogs meant to be, it emphasizes it, because the blogs aren't the place to inform everyone about your new track to make them more popular.

Btw do you really like people advertising their own tracks in a blog? I don't, and have never awarded / will never award such a track... If you want to advertise because you find that your track is underrated, then there is a forum for that. And I do believe you're on that forum.
