Or just join a clan, and let your clanmates give the first 10 awards and boost you into the BOTW :d

Problem with that is that I'd like to stay independent. I don't have the time to play regularly.

lol, why finding a special way to get awards? :p

And if you wanna join a tracking clan (I only know 3, FT LT and XT ), you've to be accepted first. :d

MrA says:
You have to start by helping yourself

1) Your tracks appear mostly passworded. Not that useful when most people are testing tracks by loading them into the editor. Until the full version of Canyon comes out and solo play is enabled, using passwords results in your track being downloaded but not played

My password is available on my TM2X profile. I said it in my track thread (which was buried since I don't upload tracks like crazy).

... says:

2) Get screenshots, and upload them with the track. As you have already discovered, a track does not spend that long in the newest tracks window, but even there a nice screen shot will make it stand out. If you cant make good screenies, there is a forum for this where you can get help in that area.

I did that with both Deserts of Taros and Sunbaked Sand. Deserts of Taros is my most downloaded track, but only because it was completely new (first true RPG track on mania exchange) and I mentioned it on a server.

... says:

3) Award and comment on other peoples tracks. You have so far not given out much feedback or recognition but you you complain about not getting any yourself.

1. I tried that on TMU-X. Didn't help.
2. Not much time, I haven't been able to play much.
3. It's not awards I want, it's downloads that end up on servers. To me a server hosting my track is the greatest award.

... says:

4) Don't make tracks names ALL IN CAPS, it looks angry and I probably would avoid these maps.

I'll try that. I've found that on TMU-X I actually got more downloads if I used all caps simply because my track was more visible on the front page, but maybe times have changed.

i dont know any other tracking clan...
and all 3 have a long history behind (can only speak for XT, but i know many members of the other 2 tracking clans too)
And this idea wont work...even in a clan, or better...In a clan you'll get more and better, detailled feedback, but you also gain harder words if your track isnt what it should be (could).
I'm in XT since...boh....cant remember...and never had my mates pushing me in BOTW, why should they?
Even in a clan are allways mates who dont like your creations.

The good thing on this 3 is, all have their different style of tracking wich took them to the thing they are now.
And you can see on a track to wich clan the tracker belongs...if you only open your eyes.

Movo your sentence is nonsense and just not true, not for XT not for LT and not for FT
talking about Fame...
who of you knows: tcq? Panis? Legend? JakeOil? Junerat? MXII? Sivert? JumperJack? Pitstep? Buchi? Andree? TaBle? Hageldave? Ron Turbo? Trojaner?
To count only a few "known"..i'm sure some dont even know half of them at all...you see fame isnt for allwayys and for everyone

I seen tracks by everyone on that list except Pitstep.

Also, this is the last time I'm going to say it, I don't care if I become famous, I just want my work to be appreciated.

I'll butt in for the last time here, and it most likely will be the last time ..

Reading all the posts, they all sorta of make sense, I'm really sure which side of the coin I am :) this has indeed become a heavy debate and personally I don't want to be involve with it, but I somehow feel that I should.... urrrggghh.

I stand what I said before, today I tried some 'unknown' authors tracks, and guess what .. they were freaking awesome !! Well at least they suited my style of driving... (ok i did upload them straight from my server and only gave one an award, silly me !)

All I can say at the end of the day is...

try something new for a change ... don't just go with the well known.. be a rebel !! We are a community, everyone counts !!

i guess I should leave a comment here, because you used my username in the original post... but it seems that most things have already been said :p

This is a discussion that comes up constantly, and every time I hesitate to post because it's such an opinionated topic. There is no such thing as a 'good' track, as there is no such thing as a 'good' song, a 'good' movie or a 'good' book. That's just a word we use to describe our own feelings. So nobody can sit here and tell you how to build tracks correctly. All you can do is build what YOU like. And if you really want to become one of those best-of-the-week guys, download tracks that appear there. Learn from them.

that's all I've got (y)

i have a cool ide i think :$ 1 tracks at random per day will be showcase for a competition no matter style or autor the track can be totaly awful but there is still a competition on it so after the week we played 7 diffrent random tracks and maybe the winner on the tracks get 4 in karma and and the other 9 on the tracks get 1 in karma maybe put a track in pp with get me to pp: 4 in karma is way to much maybe all get 1 in karma that play a track no matter time
