so if no one gets the time to beat the AT you will get disqualified?

No, that's not what I said. I said that if the AT is obviously not made on the normal route (read: if it's impossible to get the AT on the normal route) and the judges can't find a cut, they can't judge the track because it breaks the rules (too long).

In the past you could just put the AT in in a hex editor anyway, you can probably still do it. Judges use common sense, it would be dumb to only rely on numbers.

For example:

I am the best Techdriver on the planet. I build a 90Sec Techmap. But only when i drive PERFECTLY i get a 1:29.99 . In Tech there is an huge gap between the skilllevels. So the judges would only get a 1:39.54 . So no one could beat my AT... and they disqualify me because of this "impossible" looking map?

What is when my map is a maze? I know the "right" path and get a 1:29.99 . But no one else got it, they only found the "worse" way with 2:30.00 ... Still disqualified?

what is when i build the hardest track ever, no one can finish this but iam able to finish the map in 1:29.99 (because of skill). Still disqualified?

I was wondering as well. My map is hard to get perfectly, because it's kind of trialish and there is a few tricks for an ongoing run (basically doable with respawn, but not the same speed obviously). With 0 respawns but none of the minor tricks and a few details the time might still be 2:20+ and using the tricks is saving at least 5s..

On trial/RPG in general, the differences between times are often bigger due to minor mistakes and the track lenght :-w

Only a replay could solve the cut or skill question I guess =p

Well, yeah. When you enter a contest you're not building for you, you're building for a panel of judges. If they can't manage to get within 10 seconds of your AT and there's no proof that you're actually using the same route, you get DQd on the basis that the track is longer than the maximum length for everyone else in the world, and even you if you do a slightly-less-than-perfect run.

As I said, if it's OBVIOUSLY impossible that the AT is as good as it is, the track will be disqualified. In cases where the judges are unsure if the AT is valid, they will ask for a replay. A 10+ second difference (in a ~90s map) between all judges and a participant is something I've never seen in the MTC, it's not realistic - there are usually some rather experienced players among the judges and judges that are completely new to the game aren't generally the first choice to ask to judge.

As for the maze, again, a replay would clear everything out, but a dedicated judge should find the quickest route, or one of the quickest routes anyway. If that doesn't happen (if it's too hard to drive the route or something), I don't think the map will score too high.

And as for the "hardest map ever", if a judge can't finish it because you're the "best player" and the map is seriously the hardest map ever, then you probably get really bad scores or the judges can refuse to judge it. I don't see why you'd build a close-to-impossible map for the MTC anyway, if none of the judges can finish it you'll probably end up with 0-5 points.

Nobody goes around DQing maps just for fun, of course a replay would be asked (unless it's completely obvious that the map doesn't fit the rules - for example, if the limit is 30-90s, and the AT is 0:45.00 but the judges finish the track in 0:15.00) and if the replay seems okay, then the track will probably be qualified. It might not get high points if it has some really weird route or if it's just way too hard, but that's not a valid reason to disqualify a track, naturally.

Osaka has the last word in everything of course (and the other hosts), as said I'm not hosting this month, just pointing out a few facts about the pasts (that probably apply now, too, though).

If the judges are too critical as critical as the older one you're referring to, there's really no hope for me :'(

As I said, since we don't have many entries you do have a chance. But next time read the rules, that line's been there since march at the very least.

And what about "It says the tracks should have a lenght of ..."? Good argument? =p
