Maniaplanet render is 710 mbps. Mbps. Fucking much. I can render without problem, but I can't even open the videos.

Also, I have no skills to use your guidelines with fonts or graphics since I don't even have photoshop. I'd love to make a video if it was easier though :p

What do you mean with you can't open them? They are very big and they are split. You just have to put them in the right order into your video editor and from there on you can see what you have.

I rendered a replay but it's constantly stalling and buffering if I try to play any of the output videos in VLC :p

That's normal. You get a pretty good preview experience with MPC-HC (Media Player Classic).

It's around 1 Go for 10 second of replay, so yeah it's a bit loud for VLC or even for a preview.
But once rendered, it will work perfectly fine. Just use the timeline on your program to see where you are.

If it's your only problem, just send me your infos, I'll do the photoshops.

Why couldn't we lower bitrate in TM, that's too much imo :p I guess it's not possible though.

Anyway, I can basically render replays, I have Vegas but have never used it more than putting clips together :d

The bitrate is so high, because MP renders to AVI. That format produces some of the biggest files regardless of the exact codec you use, although there are some like Lagarith and MagicYUV which produce files with lower file size (and hence better rendering speed as the rendering speed is often limited by disk speed if you use HDDs) while preserving the quality.
BTW: VirtyalDub is really nice to create a single file from the segments.

You can have decent birate with .avi file tho.
If you go with Sony Vegas, it seems that you will have to go with an .avi, as you can't choose the codec for an .mp4

The final render will reduce the size of the video, so it doesn't really matter that Maniaplanet give you these hudge files. :p

.avi is just a container. You can render h264 into avi and have great compression. The .avi files from Maniaplanet are so big, because you are using a lossless codec, meaning, that the quality is untouched. You could use the x264 codec for the export too, even WEBM directly into avi (I did that once). The disadvantage is, that you're not able to edit the video properly.

The reason you are exporting huge files from MP is that you want to actually compress the files as rarely as possible. So even if you're using Lagarith (a smarter lossless codec) and then exporting the video out of your video editor, you'll have your video compressed two times already, since youtube does compress it again.

I'm advocating for high bitrate, since that is most of the time the safest way to reach HQ video uploads on youtube, but for some videos this does not work properly. If you look at this video in fullscreen, you can see that the quality is really good on this one, but I've had problems emulating it ever since (even with the quick movements). Here is the data. You can see that the bitrate is really low, compared for example to my most recent upload, the sharing is caring video.

I will try to optimize the mp4 codec today and I'll let you know if I found a solution on how to get the best youtube quality. For you, wormi, don't be pessimistic about the file sizes. My sharing is caring video took 40 GB of disk space before I rendered it out of sony vegas :$ .
