Hunting tracks wouldn't need an own category, as they might be any kind of track style. Maybe a box you could check "[x] Hunting map", might add a more complexity, not sure ^^ Or perhaps even the possibility to check multiple track styles. Max 3 track styles, but some tracks might be a mix of some. (Tech and offroad is a common one I guess?)

Sorry if I missed your favourite track style, but this is still open for discussion =)

GP is its own style? For me it's a method of building, which usually winds up as tech or speedtech. I think it's redundant.

Imagine you're completely new to MX, uploading your first map, and you see all of these weird things under 'track style.'
Wouldn't you be a little bit confused? :p

The guys who have played the game for a while would understand, but for the rest of the world something like this isn't very user-friendly...

On the contrary, I find these things very self explanatory, with the exception of PX and GP. Any acronyms need to be either expanded or explained (or omitted 8-| )

Do really think that's the best way to do things? We could add help to justify a more difficult system, or just keep everything self explanatory. Granted, the latter is more difficult to conceive initially, but done correctly, we'll be better off. New users will have a more immediate understanding of trending track styles, and will be able to fit in nicely. Not that a little drop down help will make a huge difference, but there will admittedly people whose pride outweighs the cost of a single click.

Also, I think help is a good idea, regardless. I just don't believe that it should be a necessary read.

How about breaking all the different variations of driving styles (drift, speed drift, tech, speed tech), into 2 points - slow and fast.
Because tech is rather hard to define in Canyon and people will always have different oppinions on where tech ends and speedtech starts and if it's tech at all.
You can't put it down to using the brakes. Because on almost all track styles you'll have to use your brakes. Except on fullspeed noslide tracks.
And although they can also have quite big differences in speed most people would agree they are a different category of tracks.
Plus the special categories like RPG/Trial (yes I put them together), Platform (isn't this kinda trial either? Since there seems to be no real platform mode), LOL, Puzzle (dunno if we'll have it)...

The automobile was also harder to use, but did that justify keeping horses?

Looking back.. it would have been better to keep the horses. ;)
