Help Professor Kliq - who made the music for the TM2 trailer 2011-09-21 08:49:08
Believe it or not...

This is an official launch trailer for TM2 in Ubisoft's Youtube channel

And now guess what .. the guy who made the song 10 years ago (Professor Kliq - Traffic Cars), came along the video by pure accident and commented on the video how surprised and happy he was that the music was chosen for the trailer (makes you wonder how UBI handles other peoples' artwork :ß)

But the guy - who calls himself Professor Kliq - is in need! He needs YOU!

He's in his last university semester and is unable to pay for it.

So PLEASE! If you can spare a dime or two : Spend it on his college fund.
Personallly, I hope UBI/Nadeo have spent (or intend to spend) some dimes on him as well, since his work complimented their game presentation.

I think he has the right to get paid for using his song in a commercial.
:o

btw, I'm in a similar situation, so if you want to donate some money... ;)

IF .. this Professor Kliq is the same guy who wrote that song, and got scratch from it,
I think we can put up a standard e-mail, asking ubisoft to pay for what they use.

Once it is set up, all users who read this can spam Ubi about it.

How is that for an idea ?

the song

This is quite a development.

I can't contribute anything at the moment, but Ubisoft just lost their 8th place spot on my list of top ten trustworthy and moral businesses to The LEGO Group and are no longer on the list.

Technically speaking, if there's no copyright information posted about the music anywhere, they wouldn't have to pay for it.

But, the fact is that they're using his music to potentially increase revenue, and as an artist trying to make a living, Kliq should see his cut.

It's most surprising to me that the song was used without so much as a notice to the artist ...

I wish Ubisoft was still the same as back when they released POD with 16 tracks and 8 cars and then made 16 free additional tracks and 32 cars for it. :(

@Bucky: If you didn't post a copyright information doesn't mean it's free for all. You are still the "owner of the product".

...and according to his study he should now abou that. 8-|

Shows how much I know about the business :p

My point remains valid though: as the artist, he deserves his cut.
